- The Big Aussie BBQ

The event involves more that a dozen sporting and community groups who provide sports events, activities, entertainment and displays throughout the day.

With loads of free sporting activities, live music, sandcastle competition, two Big Aussie BBQs, double decker buses, sailing, swimming, the Lady Nelson under sail and the pristine backdrop of Kingston Beach it is clear, there is no other event in Tasmania that has such a unique location.

The 7HOFM A Day on the Beach is about recognition of, and pride in being an Australian. It’s about enjoying sport, it's about being active, it’s about joining in and it’s about summer, beaches and having fun. But most importantly A Day on the Beach is about the community.

Who and Why?

The Kingston Beach Regatta Association, a registered not-for-profit association formed to run A Day on the Beach.

All members of the management and organising team are volunteers. These members have created “A Day on the Beach” as a service to the local community and to provide a free family day for the region.

The committee is comprised of members of the public, the Lions Club of Kingborough, Kingston Rotary Club & representatives of local sporting clubs.
